Introduction
This collection of evidence-based medicine (EBM) resources is intended
for faculty, librarians, students and health care professionals interested
in learning about EBM. Our goal is to make this site your preferred entry
point when you wish to learn EBM, teach EBM, find current EBM research,
or find key EBM resources.
North Carolina Area Health Education Center (AHEC) librarians and academic
librarians who teach formal EBM programs formed a team to create this
virtual EBM Center of Excellence in 2000. The Center was based on the
concept of "Centers of Excellence" outlined in the NC AHEC Library &
Information Services Network 2001-2005 work plan.
This EBM Center of Excellence is one of many other information resources
that can be linked to from NC AHEC's recently developed Digital Library
(http://library.ncahec.net/).
The email addresses for librarians responsible for content are provided
at the end of each section of this web site. Please feel free to contact
the author(s) if you have questions or suggestions for content.

What's New
The What's New section highlights major news and developments
in evidence-based medicine. This section also highlights changes to the
web site.
Learning
The Learning EBM section provides a description of classes and online
tutorials that teach you the process of EBM. Classes in North Carolina
are listed first, followed by those in the US and abroad. Online tutorials
are listed last.
Teaching EBM
The Teaching EBM section contains information to support the teaching
of EBM. You will find examples of EBM curriculum, worksheets and information
to use with question building, searching strategies and critical appraisal,
and examples of tutorials.
Research
The Research section serves as a link to recent articles from Medline
concerning the teaching and the practice of evidence-based medicine. Click
on the Abstract link to read available abstracts.
Resources
The Resources section is designed to provide you with a starting point
for your EBM collections. It contains an annotated list of selected print
and electronic resources, including databases, journals and books. Links
to publishers' web sites and reviews are also provided, if available.

Highlights from the "What's New" section are posted at the top of this
