Collection and Registration of Personal Information

The AHEC Digital Library (ADL) automatically collects information from your web browser. Some of the information collected includes: your IP address, information about your computer (browser type, browser version, operating system, and platform). The ADL also collects information about date & times logged into the ADL as well as basic information about content viewed on the site. The ADL also uses "session" cookies to authenticate you into the ADL. This allows you to login, browse the site, and view the content housed on the site. These cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser.

How Personal Information Is Used

We use personal information to initially authenticate individuals, and to match them with their appropriate resources.

We use the personal contact information only to contact users regarding their ADL accounts, or to contact users regarding ADL technical and content issues.

We also collect usage statistics for the following purposes:

• For collection development
• For market analysis and promotion
• For product development and improvement

Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

All account information is confidential and is accessible only to the ADL and AHEC library staff. Information will not be shared with third parties.
