This month’s opioid article addresses the overlap between the clinical and law enforcement sides of the opioid crisis. This commentary provides insight into the challenges that law enforcement can face when dealing with people suffering from substance abuse, and describes one example of a solution through the Fayetteville Police Department’s program partnering law enforcement with medical, behavioral, and social support connections.
